I wanted to explain the reason behind the name of our website, Everlasting Peace. Surely, anyone with a conscience wants o be able to live in peace–with neighbors, local and federal authorities, and even the world at large. The problem is, everyone does not feel this way. Many times neighbors cannot get along; neither do those in our government. Certainly, many world governments are not working toward peace, except for the false peace that is coming, that will eventually be consummated by the antichrist. It all comes down to this: it’s a heart problem. Until the heart is at peace with it’s maker (God), things will mostly continue unchanged. As far as this world is concerned, things will only continue to get worse until the Prince of Peace comes: hence the name of our site. History has proven that one person can make a difference, and the only Person Who has made the real difference in the hearts and lives of people is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Prince of Peace, and there is no real peace without Him in a person’s life. “There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked” (Isaiah 54:10). “There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked” (Isaiah 59:8). History records that wars and killings and hatred have been since the fall of man in the garden of Eden; but the good news is, there is a remedy! It is found in that Name that is above every name: the name of Jesus Christ. He is the only Hope, not only for this present world, but also for the world to come.
So this brings us to the reason for Everlasting Peace. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid ” (John 14:27).
“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21).
Every believer already knows that one day when we go to live with Jesus in heaven, we will enjoy everlasting peace. But what about now? In this troublesome world of heartaches, sickness, and fears, what about now? Well, there is still peace that can be had, but we do not have the power in ourselves to produce that peace. Once again, that peace comes from the Prince of Peace. He alone gives peace. In fact, He is our Peace. It all comes down to one simple question: are you willing to surrender all to the Lord Jesus Christ? There is a peace that passeth all knowledge and understanding at the foot of the cross, when we’re fully surrendered to Him. We can enjoy a little heaven to go to heaven on! I know that is easier said than done, but I have experienced it. We do not have to live a defeated life when we have Jesus. Just give it all to Him. Oh, and by the way, as you go through your days and nights, just take a moment and say, “Jesus, I love You.” You might be surprised at the response you get!
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” (Colossians 1:20).
“For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace” (Ephesians 2:14-15).
“Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all” (II Thessalonians 3:16).
There is an unfailing Peace to those who are surrendered to the Everlasting Peace–the Prince of Peace, that Name which is above every name, Jesus Christ, the LORD of lords, KING of kings, the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last. Bless His Holy Name.
