The King James Defends Itself
Psalms 138:2 “…for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”
God did not magnify the parchments above all his name. The thinking process of the scholars is that only the originals (so called) are without error. Their “faith” is in the original parchments, scrolls, etc.
Matt. 23:34 “…behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes:”
So the scribes are ordained of God to copy the scriptures. The scholars, or better said, the “scho-liars” would have us to believe we do not have a book without error because we do not have the originals. The scholars do not have them either. The originals do not exist! But we have something the scholars don’t! The promise of God! Preservation!
Psalms 12:6-7 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”
Today we have a whole generation in churches throughout the land using modern perversions that come from the (so called) scholars that don’t believe in the preservation of God’s Word.
The same faith that enables me to believe that I am saved, also
enables me to believe the preservation of the Word of God. So it is
fair to conclude that the scholars simply do not have saving faith.
So if we believe (and we do) that God has preserved his Word, all we need to do is find where it is. We can’t find it in the originals, because they do not exist. We can’t find it in the many perversions for there is only one Word of God. One Lord, one faith, one Christ, one Church, one Jesus, one Spirit, one God, one Way, and only one Word!
The Word of God has to be somewhere in the earth today! So where
is it? We cannot find the word of God in the many perversions for another reason. God promised to preserve His Word to all generations. The perversions of today come basically from two manuscripts: Vaticanus (B) and Siniaticus (Aleph). These manuscripts were not in circulation for many generations. If the perversions of today are the Word of God (and they are not), then where did the believers get the faith to give their lives for Christ during those years that these perversions did not exist? After all, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. How many of the perversion crowd do you suppose would be willing to be burnt at the stake for their “faith”? Many generations of souls would have perished not having the Word of God.
II Tim. 2:9 “…but the word of God is not bound.”
It was not the Word of God that was found in a trash can at Mt. Sinai in St. Catherine’s Monastery (Siniaticus), nor was it bound in the Vatican (Vaticanus) at Rome. Where is the Word of God today?
Romans 10:8 “…The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;”
I Peter 1:25 “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
Psalms 100:5 “For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
John 17:17 “…thy word is truth.”
A sobering thought.
The scholars who hate the KJV so much have no doubt read it. They have the very Word of God in their mouth and in their heart, yet they have rejected it as the very Word of God. The same is true of the (so called) preachers who stand behind pulpits every Sunday across this land who once held the very Word of God in their hands but now hold a perverted NIV, RSV, NKJV, etc., and they call it the Holy Bible! No wonder Peter says this in the following verse.
II Peter 2:1 “But there were false prophets also among the people…even denying the Lord that bought them…”
The problem is not in the Word of God, but in the heart. The believing heart has no problem with it.
I Thessalonians 2:13 “…when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”
Today, everybody wants to jump on the wagon and use the term—-
“In the originals!”
What did Jesus have to say about the originals?
Luke 4:17 “…And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,”
Luke 4:20 “And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down…”
Luke 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
As far as Jesus was concerned, he was reading the very Word of God. He was reading from a copy of a copy of a copy. He did not point out any errors in it! So there, we have the very incarnate word reading the written word. Don’t you think the one who wrote the word in the first place, would have noticed the errors in it if they were any? Only the critics find errors in his word.
John 5:39 “Search the scriptures…”
All they had to search from were copies of copies, yet Jesus said they were the Scriptures.
John 5:46 “…for he wrote of me.”
Jesus said Moses wrote of Him. Moses wrote fifteen-hundred years before
Jesus’ day. Parchments don’t last that long, hence the whole reason for the scribes (copiers) that Jesus sent to them (Matthew 23:34).
What did the Apostle Paul have to say about the originals?
II Tim. 3:15 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures,…”
Here is a simple test.
II Tim. 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
(1) doctrine
(2) reproof
(3) correction
(4) instruction in righteousness.
Which perversion can pass the “profitable” test on each one of these?
On doctrine—they contradict themselves.
On reproof—they are reproved by the KJV.
On correction—they are incorrect themselves.
On instruction—they are sending souls to hell!
Besides this, it takes all scripture. They leave out verses.
What Bible are the scholars going to be judged by?
John 12:48 “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
The AV 1611 KJV that the scholars hate so much will judge them one day. They will not be judged by the originals they love so much, but by the one they rejected, and that in their own language.
Another argument the scholars use is that error comes along with the translation from one language to another.
Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues…”
Acts 2:7 “…are not all these which speak Galileans?”
Acts 2:8 “And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?”
The Word of God was being translated into several languages by the Holy Ghost and he was using human instruments to do it!
Acts 2:16 “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;…”
Acts 2:18 “And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”
Peter was the main spokesman in Acts 2, and it was this same Peter that said:
I Peter 1:23 “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
According to Peter, there were no errors in the translation going on at Pentecost. Besides this, only the living Word of God can produce conviction and life.
Acts 2:37 “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart,…”
Acts 2:41 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
The same God that promised to preserve his Word, also said that same Word is alive!
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful…”
One reason the scholars fear the KJV is the fact that it is alive. No one fears a dead lion or a dead snake. That is why they are comfortable with their NIV. IT IS A DEAD BOOK! It has no bite to it.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:2 “The same was in the beginning with God.”
It is impossible to separate God and His Word. It is impossible to separate Jesus and His Word. To say that His Word has error is the same as saying that Jesus has sin, which is impossible!
No wonder Hebrews 4:12 says concerning the Word, that it can discern, that it can see! So does Galatians 3:8: “And the scripture, foreseeing…”
God promised to preserve His Word, and He has. It is not hidden. Just
like Calvary, Jesus is only hidden from those who reject Him.
I Peter 1:25 “…And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
II Corinthians 4:3 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
II Corinthians 4:4 “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,…”
The scholars reject Jesus. They deny His virgin birth, the power of His blood, and His bodily resurrection. They deny that He ascended, and they hate His
Second Coming!
Matthew 11:25 “At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.”
Are the perversions mentioned in the Word of God?
II Corinthians 2:17 “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God:…”
II Corinthians 4:2 “…nor handling the word of God deceitfully;…”
Revelation 22:19 “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life,…”
God said that there would be those who corrupt the word. The perversions are a fulfillment of scriptures.
The KJV is the only English translation that has no copyright.
II Timothy 2:9 “…but the word of God is not bound.”
All the perversions have a copyright, which denotes the work of men. The KJV has no copyright, which denotes the work of God. Men behind the perversions are in it for the money. God is in the KJV and He is in it for the souls of men, women, boys, and girls.
Isaiah 55:1 “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”
In conclusion, why go out into the dark to get more light?
I Peter 2:4 “To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,”
I Peter 2:6 “…Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.”
I Peter 2:8 “And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient; whereunto also they were appointed.”
The King James Version will continue to defend itself, just as it has for more than 400 years. Every word in it is preserved!
Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
Jesus would not have commanded that man live by every word of God unless He intended to preserve every word!
Psalms 12:6 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
Psalms 12:7 “Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”
So today we have those, even some in the fundamental circles that will make statements like, well the KJV is the closest to the originals. John 1:14, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” To say the KJV is the closest to the originals, is the same as saying, Jesus is the closest to God as any man can get, and yet not exactly God. Think about that the next time you hear a preacher or anyone else make that statement. Galatians 5:9 “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” How many drops of poison will you allow in you food before you refuse to eat it? The way we treat his word is exactly the way we treat him. The way we believe his word is exactly the way we believe him. The written word and the incarnate word are inseparable. Our God is only as pure as his word. For without his word, we know nothing about him other than common sense in what he reveals to us in creation.
The scholars have a dead book. They are at home with it. They are still dead in their trespasses and sins. We have a living book, and have been quickened by it. Only a book that is alive produces life!
