Vision

Be Thou my vision

Be thou my vision in purpose.

What is my purpose in life this day as I live the life He has given me this day? Will it be purposed for me and I, or will it be aimed at bringing honor and glory due His Holy Name?

Then I thought about the power that will enable me to live this another day my Lord has give me. Will I try to live out His purpose today in my own strength or in the power He provides?

Then I thought about the providence that led me to this day in my journey. Did I get here accidentally by mere chance or has His mighty hand led me this far in walking with Him?

Then I thought about the provision provided for me this day. Will I have to beg in order just to exist for one more day? Or will I trust where He guides, He will provide?

Then I thought about perseverance. Will this be the last day I can truly trust Him to be with me and can I really trust Him to be the same tomorrow when I awake and begin another day?

Then I thought about His presence. The very presence of Him that causes every other part of Him become so real in our heart’s. His presence we enjoy during those precious seasons as we walk now, knowing, will be consummated one glorious day, with the words, “come up hither.”

Then I though of the prospects of how I am even allowed to consider any of these things. Then, I thought, surely, someone must really love me and care for me and is concerned about me, and everything far beyond anything I am capable of within myself. Surely someone is watching out for me or else these thoughts would not even be possible to come to my mind.

Through faith we understand these things, whereas, those without will never ever even consider.

Yes, someone really does love us and cares for us. Yes, He does lead us in His providence and in His provision, provides for us as he does the little sparrow, each and every day.

“I will never leave thee nor forsake thee,” is His promise, provided by Him, and will certainly be carried out by His mighty power.

His purpose will be performed in us this day as we remember, He is our vision.

Let us, “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

As we walk this day, allowing Jesus to be our vision. Knowing, this vision by faith may very well end today, and begin in sight.

Child of God, today may very well be the day it it will be said of us, “And they are not, for God took them.”
